The Prince’s Crusade - The First Crusade: ~ The Alexander Articles

Come celebrate one year of The Alexander Society with us, and listen to Tim and Derek lose our minds at the absolute nonsense that is the story of the First Crusade. Threads of history meet and combine, from the church movement to centralize the power of the Papacy to the political disunity of the Muslim Near East to the senselessly violent boredom plaguing knights in western Europe, to create the perfect storm for the Medieval Christian world to launch their armed pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Along the way we meet some colorful characters: the seemingly noble Godfrey of Bouillon, the calculating and ruthless Bohemond of Taranto, the competent but unlucky Turk General Kerbogha, and of course the elusive priest and failed general Peter the Hermit.

Rules:
1. Every time somebody does something cynical for personal ambition, We take a sip
2. Every time Peter the Hermit pops up, We take 3 sips
3. Every time Crusaders massacre a group of people who are not Muslim, We take a shot
